Who was your inspiration?
My inspiration was Jackie Robertson because he was the first black man in the Majour league baseball which at the time was all white and faced all of the countless racism and became one of the most dominant in history. He broke the color barrier, changing baseball and the whole America in general and was looked at as a hero to countless people. I wanted to make a movie on him but it want the right time to do so and others said not to?

What inspired you to become a film maker?
When I was late teens I went to a friend's house and I saw a camara in the corner of the room. It was the summer break and the market was bad so couldn’t get a job as I would normally do so I asked if I could borrow it for the summer. My friend said yes so all through that summer I was filming and taking photos of Brooklyn. I started to love Photography. Later that summer I went to a Movie called "The Deer Hunter" with some friends and after that movie I decided I wanted to be a film maker.
What are the main aspects of a Spike Lee film that make them a Spike Lee Joint?
One of the main things that I put into my films that I believe are unique to me as a director is my cinematography because I change it a lot and experiment with it compared to a lot of other directors who would generally use well known styles and camera angles which they now will work. I will also generally use brighter more vibrant colors and hip hop music which is often composed by my father.
What where your main influences?
My main influences in the world of film are Sean Connery as James Bond and also Sidney Poitier who is a actor, director, activist and ambassador. He was pretty much the first person of color to do these things, breaking the color barrier.
What is a Passion of yours?
A passion of mine is basketball, in particular the knicks. Since my first major movie "She's Gotta Have it" and the money I got from that I have owned season tickets to all there games. As I gained more money I progressively bought better and better seats. I now have season game tickets for courtside and I attend nearly every game. Although I was recently turned down from the entrance that I have used for 28 years and I am on rocky terms with the team now.
